Nathaniel: The way you treat Kaylee is out of line.

Alyse: Nathaniel, I just want her to be a successful young lady. Why is that so bad?

Nathaniel: Because the way you’re doing it is by demeaning her and threatening her and being overall nasty! Your children are terrified of you and that doesn’t bother you? I talked to Kaylee last night, and your actions made her cry. Not to mention the fact that she thinks you hate her.

Alyse: She thinks I hate her?

Nathaniel: Yes! And you know what else, she asked me if we were getting a divorce.

Alyse: …What did you say?

Nathaniel: I said not yet.

Alyse: Good. Now, I understand I can be a bit harsh-

Nathaniel: Allie, I said ‘not yet,’ not no. And I don’t want to have to give you an ultimatum, but if you continue…abusing our child like this, then I am going to get the lawyers to draw up the papers.

Alyse: Nathaniel, you wouldn’t leave me…and abuse. I think you’re being a bit-

Nathaniel: Alyse, you’re always telling the rest of us what you expect, but now I’m going to tell you what I expect. I expect you to apologize to the kids. Especially Kaylee. The emotional and verbal abuse you’ve put her through, just for being who she is- I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we woke up one day and she ran away.

Alyse: [voice breaking] Oh, Nathan. I’ve been awful. I’m so sorry.

Nathaniel: Allie, it’s going to be okay…

After a few minutes of quiet sniffling, something struck Nathaniel.

Nathaniel: You haven’t called me Nathan since before the kids were born.

Alyse: And you still call me Allie…I love you.

Garret: Hey sis. What are you doing in here? You have home ec. first period.

Kaylee: Shut up Garret, me and Yuki just needed a place to talk.

Garret: Wow, rude.

Kaylee: Love you, now stuff it.

Yuki: So, what happened? Did you get the lecture of the century?

Kaylee: Eh, it wasn’t too bad. Mom basically said I was a disappointment to the family and that I need to make a better choice in friends, then she threatened to pull me out of public school, but Dad made her back down when he brought up how that would look. It just ended there, really, but she said I still have to wear dresses so fml, and sent me and Garret to bed like we were kids.

Yuki: Jesus, that sucks Kay. You wanna crash at my place for a few days? We don’t really have a lot of room, but if you ever needed to get away…

Thinking of their thoughts from the beach, Kaylee smiled at the offer.

Kaylee: Nah, that’s okay Yukes. My dad and Garret have my back, so I’ll be fine.

Luna: Friends? Since when? You don’t make friends, you-

Yuki: Oh. My. God! Get lost bitch! I don’t care where you go, just get lost. Track down that she-devil you call a captain or something, but I’m gonna talk to my friend now.

Kaylee: Let’s go somewhere we can talk privately. I have to tell you about what happened last night when I got home…

Yuki: I know just the place where these lot wouldn’t bother following us. Come on.

Kaylee: Yass bitch!

Kaylee: Alright ladies, calm down. What’d I miss? And why is it going down in front of my locker?

Luna: Stay out of this, newbie. I don’t care enough about you yet to come up with an insult.

Yuki: Aww, Luna you do care? I always knew you were secretly in love with me.

Luna: Wh-what?! No! Never, I absolutely hate you!

Yuki: You just said you don’t care about Kaylee enough to insult her, so that means you must care about me.

Luna: Ew, no! Never in a million years, you lezzy piece of garbage!

Yuki: I’m bi, bitch. Now get out of here, I’m talking to my friend.

Kaylee: Yeah, get out of here Luna. We’re talking.
